Advent 2023: How does a weary world rejoice?

This year we are again using resources from A Sanctified Art that have been adapted for our context.  The Devotional Booklet, Advent Calendar, Poetry, Bible Study and Lecto Divina resources are protected resources and may be accessed via the links below using a password available from the Church office .  If you would like to access these resources email the Church office and we'll provide you with the password.

Weekly Sunday Gatherings

We will gather each Sunday of the Advent season to ponder the recurring question: How does a weary world rejoice?  And each week, begining November 26th, we will be reminded of the many and varied ways that Love sustains her people in community!

 

We will begin our Advent journey on Sunday November 26th gathered around the table. If you will be participating via Facebook Live, have some bread and juice or wine nearby so you can participate fully.

Advent I, Sunday Nov. 26th @ 11AM

Advent II, Sunday Dec. 3rd @ 11AM

Advent III, Sunday Dec. 10th @ 11AM

Advent IV, Sunday Dec. 17th @ 11AM

Winter Solstice, Thursday Dec. 21st @ 7PM

Christmas Eve, Sunday Dec. 24th @ 7PM

 

To enrich your experience of the season you are welcome to make use of one or more of the resources below and/or take part in one or more of the season activities offered by Sackville United Church.

We will gather in community at 7PM on Sunday December 24th where We make room in word and song and are reminded that we belong to God. All are welcome - and All Means All. There is room at the table for everyone!

 

We will gather again on Sunday December 31st, the morning of the last day of 2023, to root ourselves in ritual as we prepare to begin a new year!  

​

Our first Sunday Gathering of 2024 will take place on will take place on January 7th as we are reminded to trust our belovedness.

An Advent Calendar

There are two Advent Calendars for you to consider: one for children and one for youth and adults. Follow the one or both of the links above. Place one or both of the calendars on your refrigerator. Each day in December, color area on the logo and follow the prompts for discussion and reflection.
