Advent, Christmas & Epiphany Events & Activities
Central, Sackville and Visions United Churches, as they continue their collaborative journey, are using resources from A Sanctified Art that have been adapted for our context: What Do You Fear? Insisting on Hope this Advent.

As another Advent begins, we celebrate the birth of Jesus, a child born into a world of turmoil,
uncertainty, and fear. But God was with him, as with us, in both our hopes and our fears.
​
This advent we are drawn to the image of a lantern. Lanterns are often used to light the way as we gently step forward into unseen or unknown territory. The lantern, like hope, steadies our hands and eyes as we walk forward through the night, capturing the beauty of both light and darkness. From this space where our greatest fears greet our most palpable hopes, possibility emerges.

When we turn to our neighbors to spread the light, it multiplies, wrapping the whole community in warmth, guiding us to courage and unity, and reminding us that God is near.
​​
Join in community with one of the congregations nearest you each Sunday during the season of Advent and again on Christmas Eve and beyond!
As you journey through Advent to Christmas and then into the New Year, take part in one of seasonal events being offered.​

Weekly Sunday Gatherings
We will gather each Sunday of the Advent Season to connect with one another and seek to support one another as we each navigate life filled with endings and beginnings. We need community, we need reminders, places and experiences that are steady ground, a path for our feet to find a way, as we step forward into the unknown. The logos for the season are lanterns, reminding us of the beauty of both light and darkness, warmth and the crisp cold of winter.
