Sackville United recently received word that an application made to the Vision Fund in support of the Tantramar Youth Climate Crisis Project was approved.
As part of this project, young climate leaders and adult mentors will: plan and participate in capacity building activities for youth regarding climate change; expand community engagement in climate action through dialogues with business owners and community leaders. In addition, they will plan and participate in an Eco-Fair that will include engagement and education through the arts and creative action during annual Climate Change Week in local area (examples of initial ideas include featuring books and authors on climate topics, hosting a mending café, a repair café, local seasonal and vegan cooking classes, workshop on preparing households for extreme weather events, etc.).
Congratulations to Amelia Fleming, Catherine Priemer, Theo Law, Roland Chiasson (Aster Group Co-op) and Eric Tusz-King on their success in applying and every good wish as the project unfolds.
Early this morning, Laura Hunter wrote seeking ‘a quick video testimony’ and Lloyd put the following together in an effort to tell our story and support the work of the Faithful Footprints program and the Vision Fund.
