At its meeting this evening, the Executive of Sackville United Church, in an effort to
contribute to the care of the larger community, made the difficult decision to suspend in-person gatherings at Sackville United Church effective tomorrow, December 16th 2021, through to and including Sunday January 2nd 2022. The Executive will meet again on January 5th to re-evaluate and will be in communication with you again following that meeting.
As you can imagine, this decision was made with great regret. All of us were looking forward to being together on the last Sunday of Advent, the Longest Night, Christmas Eve and on the first Sunday of the New Year – but, it was determined that this is the most prudent course of action given the transmissibility of the omicron COVID-19 variant and the rapidly increasing case numbers in the province.
Lloyd and Jennie, with the assistance of others will make every effort to offer the community meaningful opportunities to gather virtually following the schedule below:
Sunday December 19th, Advent IV @ 11AM (via Facebook Live)
Tuesday December 21st, Longest Night @ 7PM (via Facebook Live)
Friday December 24th, Christmas Eve for Kids @ 3PM (via Zoom)
Friday December 24th, Christmas Eve for All @ 7PM (via Facebook Live)
Sunday December 26th, Boxing Day @ 11AM (via Facebook Live)
Sunday January 2nd, A New Year @ 11AM (via Facebook Live)
The Executive and Staff of Sackville United Church extend to you the warmest of Christmas Greetings. It is our hope and prayer that you experience the mystery and joy that is Love born among us... and, that you share that love with others in meaningful and life-giving ways!
Faithfully,
Janet Hammock Lloyd Bruce
Chair, Sackville United Church Executive Minister, Sackville United Church
