ANNOUNCEMENTS for Sept 4, 2016 16th Sunday after Pentecost
Today we once again welcome the return of Sara Jewell to the pulpit, and look forward to her words of inspiration, challenge, and wholeness.
SUC BOOK AND BAKE SALE COMING UP SOON: on September 17th from 8am-12pm (during Fall Fair) at Sackville United. Anyone who has books to donate can drop them off at the church office during regular office hours or bring them on Sunday. All kinds of books welcome, although textbooks are not preferred.
CHIGNECTO PRESBYTERY WOMEN’S RETREAT: Saturday, Sept 10, 9:30am-3:30pm at Camp Ta Wa Si. Overnight accommodations on Friday for out-of-town visitors is welcome. You will need to bring your sleeping bag or bedding. Cost of the retreat is $5, and a contribution to the shared luncheon table is welcome. Retreat facilitator is the Rev. A. Jean Ward. Her theme for retreat day will focus on the gift of play, and remembering play as a child will be a part of our conversations with God and one another, while reflecting on the importance of play. You are encouraged to bring along photos of yourself as a child, and be ready to share your favourite childhood games, and join in the play (optional). With the theme of retreat being ‘Go Fly a Kite’, consider bringing along a kite if you have one, there may be opportunity to spend some time flying and watching our kits soar high in the sky.

CENTERING PRAYER: Centering prayer group begins on Monday, September 12 at 9:30 AM; all are welcome to join for one half hour of prayer together.
SUNDAY SCHOOL RESUMES: Sunday School Registration and Re-opening: Sunday School will begin again on Sunday, September 11 (the same day that we move back to our 11:00am church time). Sunday School teachers will be in the Godly Play room with muffins to share starting at 10:00 that morning. All are welcome to drop by before the service to register, reconnect, and ask any questions you might have about Sunday School. We are looking forward to gathering with the community of children! We’re also looking forward to trying a few new things with our 9-12 year olds this year. If anyone is interested in becoming more involved with the Sunday School, we’d love to chat with you.
