WEATHER UPDATE: CUMBERLAND PRIDE

Cumberland Pride Parade - WEATHER UPDATE

Emma Patterson, chairperson of Cumberland Pride, writes to us with an urgent message:  “Happy Pride!!!  I am sure that many of you have seen the forecast for Saturday and, if you're anything like me, you are stressing out about it too! The Pride Committee has been monitoring the forecast and the amount of rain we can expect only seems to be increasing. We have come to the decision that while we all want to celebrate Pride...none of us want to do it outdoors in the pouring rain.

So we will now be hosting a Pride Party and Rainbow Market INDOORS at the Amherst Curling Club, located at 45 Prince Arthur St. We will have the vendor market, music, a free bbq, family friendly drag show at 1pm, a photo booth, kids entertainment zone, a craft booth, and more!  The day's festivities will begin at 11am and we invite you all to come out early and participate in the fun! Thank you all for your understanding.”

Rather than a parade, groups who were preparing floats are now invited to parade across the stage dressed in their finest colourful pride gear.  Rev. Lloyd writes: “SUC will be there with banners and flags etc. Gather at 1PM at the Amherst Curling Club, located at 45 Prince Arthur St. and we will strut our PRIDE across the stage!”

We look forward to seeing all of you on Saturday!!!
